Putin threatens British ships over oil crackdown

President Putin has threatened to seize British ships after European powers detained nine oil tankers used by Russia to sell oil in secret, bypassing sanctions. The UK MoD said more than 700 such vessels carry most of Russia's banned oil — a vital income source for the Kremlin. No Russian seizure has been reported.
