Most of England is in a drought, and Britain's grain harvest could be the worst in 40 years

England and Wales had their driest July since records began in 1836. Drought now covers 71% of England — the third in five years. Farmers call it "horrendous" and warn of food shortages. More than half of one key grain crop was already gathered by late July, and dry weather is expected to continue.
