Texas Court Blocks Surrogate's Fetus From Leaving the State

Texas's top lawyer, Ken Paxton, announced a court order stopping an Alaska surrogate's unborn baby from leaving Texas. She went there to prevent the baby's California-based parents from ending the pregnancy. The baby was born August 12, 2026, with a serious heart defect. None of the people involved live in Texas, so it's unclear whether Texas courts have power over them.
