Government Agency Steps Away from Yearly Arctic Climate Report

On August 11, 2026, NOAA, a federal science agency, stopped helping produce the Arctic Report Card, a yearly check on the Arctic's health published since 2006. Scientists review each edition before release. NOAA says the raw data stays public. Lead editor Rick Thoman called the 2026 edition uncertain but hoped for 2027 and beyond.
