On August 12, 2026, a total solar eclipse passed over Greenland, Iceland, Spain, and Portugal. During a total eclipse, the Moon moves in front of the Sun and completely hides it. People in Greenland and Iceland saw this full blackout the longest. Outside that zone, the Moon only partly covered the Sun.
