Germany Wants to Let Its Spies Hack Back and Sabotage Weapons

Germany's cabinet approved a 700-page draft law on August 12, 2026, letting its intelligence agencies hack into adversaries' computers in retaliation and disrupt weapons manufacturing. Interior minister Alexander Dobrindt called it a security "revolution." Parliament must still vote. The move follows a deadly car ramming at Berlin's Pride parade and an explosives-laden drone found at Leipzig airport.
