Zimbabwe Government Boat Sinks on Lake Kariba, Killing at Least 15

At least 15 people died August 11, 2026, after a government-run boat sank on Lake Kariba. Police counted 95 aboard; rescue teams said over 114 paying adults plus children were on board. A large wave flooded the engine area near Andorra Harbour during rough weather. Since a government boat was involved, people are asking whether it was kept up and should have sailed at all.
