Lebanon Accuses Israel of Burning Large Areas of Southern Land Since Ceasefire

Since a June 2026 ceasefire, Lebanese officials say Israel has dropped fire-starting weapons daily — including white phosphorus, a chemical that burns on contact — scorching up to 40% of border land. Firefighters say drones relight fires they have put out. Israel has not commented. Conservation groups call the destruction "ecocide" — the wiping out of natural environments.
