River AI raised $1.1 billion from investors including General Catalyst, AMP PBC, Nvidia, AMD Ventures, Y Combinator, and Temasek. Founded by Igor Babuschkin, who previously helped start xAI and worked at DeepMind and OpenAI, the company launched in June 2026. It is building tools that let developers customize open AI models through a live online service.
