Armed Group Crosses Into Nigerian State, Leaving 10 Police Dead

On August 10, 2026, around 240 armed bandits on over 200 motorcycles rode from one Nigerian state into another. Ten police officers, 17 bandits, and two civilians were killed. Police spokesman Bashir Usman said the death count may still rise. Such large, organized crossings are a recurring problem in northwestern Nigeria.
