FINRA wants to scrap the $25,000 minimum you need to day-trade stocks. Instead of a fixed dollar gate, brokers would track your risk in real time. If approved, smaller accounts could trade intraday more freely—though borrowing limits would still apply. Brokers have 12–18 months to build the new systems.
