Delhi Medical Tourism Facility Fire Kills 21, Mostly Foreign Patients
A fire at Flourish Stay, a Delhi bed-and-breakfast in Malviya Nagar, killed at least 21 people on June 3, with 18 identified as foreign nationals undergoing medical treatment. Eight fire engines fought the blaze; more than 40 were rescued. The hotel lacked adequate exits, forcing some guests to jump from windows onto mattresses below. The incident exposes safety gaps in budget accommodation serving India's medical tourism sector across South Asia.
