4chan's /r/ Board Functions as Coordinated Deepfake Creation Hub
New research from the Institute for Strategic Dialogue documents 4chan's /r/ board as a centralized request system for nonconsensual deepfake imagery. Users post photographs of women; community members dubbed "wizards" generate synthetic explicit content in response. The collaborative process strengthens social bonds within the community, establishing shared investment in harassment campaigns. Analysis of posts from December 2025 through March 2026 reveals how the request-response model transforms individual acts of image manipulation into organized harassment operations.
