Meta Launches End-to-End Encrypted AI on WhatsApp

Meta is rolling out Incognito Chat with AI on WhatsApp, processing all inference within Trusted Execution Environments where neither Meta nor WhatsApp can access messages. The system uses stateless processing and forward security, discarding access once sessions end. The optional feature addresses the core tension between AI assistance and privacy guarantees in encrypted messaging applications.
