Sony a6400 Locks Focus on Eyes Even as Subjects Move
Sony's a6400 mirrorless camera, announced January 16, 2019, introduces Real-time Eye AF that maintains focus on human subjects' eyes regardless of head movement or partial frame exit. The system uses color, pattern, and spatial data to preserve lock while automatically switching between wide, zone, and single-point autofocus modes. This capability distinguishes the a6400 from earlier implementations, offering a practical advantage for wedding and sports photographers where subject movement is constant.
