ACT candidate Paul Henry said "You've got to shoot Hipkins, haven't you?" while playing "shoot, shag or marry" on Radio Hauraki, choosing among Luxon, Hipkins and Peters. Labour leader Chris Hipkins called it a "circus audition," noting leaders have been shot and killed. ACT leader David Seymour defended Henry as "100 percent authentic" and accused Labour of "manufactured outrage."
