Australia retain Labuschagne for South Africa Tests despite century drought since 2023

Australia have retained Marnus Labuschagne in their 16-man squad for the three-Test tour of South Africa beginning 9 October in Durban. The 32-year-old has not scored a century since 2023 and managed 1, 31 and 4 against Bangladesh. Chief selector George Bailey said selectors "would like more runs from Marnus" but backed him to contribute, declining to call the series his last chance.
