Climate Commission warns NZ at risk of missing all climate targets; Luxon says on track for net zero

The Climate Change Commission's third annual monitoring report warns New Zealand is at risk of missing all its climate targets, with the current emissions budget at significant risk and the next unmettable under existing policies. Prime Minister Christopher Luxon said the country is on track to deliver both budgets and reach net zero, possibly as early as 2044. The commission called the next 12 to 24 months critical.
