Kalshi Asks CFTC to Approve Never-Expiring Futures on Gold, Silver, and Platinum

Kalshi Inc. filed a request with the CFTC to list perpetual futures on gold, silver, and platinum, per July 21 Bloomberg and FT reporting. Perpetuals are derivative contracts that never expire — unlike conventional futures, which settle on fixed dates. The structure originated on offshore crypto exchanges. Kalshi's proposal would apply it to physically-backed precious metals benchmarks. The CFTC has 45 days to approve or disallow.
