Google Starts Gemini 4 Pre-Training as Flagship 3.5 Pro Remains Delayed

Google DeepMind product lead Logan Kilpatrick said on July 21 that the team has begun its most ambitious pre-training run yet for Gemini 4. The disclosure came alongside the release of three Flash-tier models, but the flagship Gemini 3.5 Pro — last updated in February and promised for June — remains without a firm date.
