Pentagon plans first U.S. public execution since 1930s with livestreamed firing squad
U.S. Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth plans to livestream the firing-squad execution of Nidal Hasan, convicted of killing 13 at Fort Hood in 2009. If broadcast, it would be the first U.S. public execution since the practice largely stopped in the 1930s. Iran and Afghanistan are the only states that systematically do so.
