Pentagon Plans Livestreamed Firing-Squad Execution, First Public U.S. Execution Since 1930s

Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth plans to broadcast live the execution by firing squad of Nidal Hasan, convicted of killing 13 people at Fort Hood in 2009. If aired, it would be America's first public execution since the 1930s, when states stopped the practice. Only Iran and Afghanistan now carry out executions publicly as routine policy.
