U.S. Bars Fiji-Based Zhao Fugang Over Alleged China-Linked Bribes

The U.S. State Department designated Fiji-based Zhao Fugang, director of the Overseas Chinese Service Center, for significant corruption. It accuses him of paying bribes to Fijians to advance China-based government, business and criminal interests, adversely affecting U.S. interests in Fiji. The U.S. Embassy in Suva says the conduct left Fiji open to malign foreign influence.
