France Pauses Stun Grenades at Student Protests

France said Oct. 7 it will pause police use of stun grenades — loud devices that disorient crowds — against student protesters. The decision came after reports of serious injuries, including eye injuries, broken teeth and blows to the head, during protests over high school conditions and funding. The pause holds while student mobilization continues.
