U.S. Bans Fiji Leader Over Alleged Bribes

The U.S. State Department banned Zhao Fugang, head of Fiji's Overseas Chinese Service Center, for alleged corruption. It accuses him of bribing — paying — Fijians to help Chinese government, business and criminal groups, harming U.S. interests in Fiji. The U.S. Embassy in Suva says this left Fiji open to harmful outside influence.
