Pentagon withdraws B-1 bombers from RAF Fairford

The Pentagon said it had removed its bombers from RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire to home stations in America. About a dozen B-1s were thought to have been withdrawn. Downing Street said the base was safe and would not comment on "foreign nations' military operations". The move was described as an operational military decision.
