US withdraws B-1 bombers from RAF Fairford

The Pentagon said it has withdrawn its B-1 long-range bombers from RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire to bases in America. About a dozen aircraft are thought to have left. Downing Street said the base remains safe. It would not comment on 'foreign nations' military operations'. It was described as an operational military decision.
