BT agrees to buy TalkTalk out of administration

BT has agreed to buy TalkTalk and wholesale arm PlatformX Communications out of administration on a debt-free basis, confirmed 5 October 2026. The deal adds 1.5 million UK retail customers to BT and transfers 900 employees, administrators Alvarez & Marsal said. BT says the two firms will operate separately pending regulatory review.
