BT to Buy TalkTalk Out of Administration in Debt-Free Deal

BT has agreed to buy TalkTalk and PlatformX Communications, its wholesale arm selling network access to other firms, out of administration (rescue process), confirmed 5 October 2026. The debt-free deal — meaning without TalkTalk's debts — adds 1.5 million UK retail customers and transfers 900 staff, administrators Alvarez & Marsal said. Both will operate separately pending regulatory review, BT says.
