National proposes Commerce Act review of lines revenue to curb power bills

National proposes reviewing Commerce Act rules that set how much revenue lines companies can recover. Energy spokesperson Simeon Brown says lines charges account for around two-thirds of the rise in average power bills. The Electrify NZ 2.0 plan notes the Commerce Commission last set the cap in November 2024, locked in until 2030.
