Five held on terrorist-plot suspicion after operation near RAF Fairford

Five men remain in custody on suspicion of preparation of a terrorist act after an overnight armed operation near RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire. Police initially arrested them in Whelford on suspicion of Explosives Act offences after reports of suspicious vehicles heading to the base, used by the US Air Force. Counter Terrorism Policing is leading the inquiry.
