Fed Lifts Rate to 3.75%-4%, First Rise Since 2023
The Federal Reserve raised its benchmark rate — the rate that sets borrowing costs across the economy — by a quarter point to 3.75%-4% in September 2026, its first increase since 2023, the central bank said.
