DJI Switches to FAA Geofencing Data, Unblocking Authorized Commercial Flights
DJI has replaced proprietary no-fly zone boundaries with official FAA datasets across all U.S. drones, effective January 13. The shift eliminates operational friction where DJI's conservative geofencing prevented legally authorized flights, particularly for Part 107 commercial operators holding proper waivers. Drones now reference the same sectional charts and NOTAMs as manned aircraft, aligning with FAA airspace management standards and reducing workflow disruptions for enterprise customers.
