Colorado Enacts Broadest Right-to-Repair Law for Consumer Electronics
Colorado's HB24-1121, signed in May and effective January 2026, extends repair rights to any consumer device with a microprocessor—the widest scope among U.S. states. The law mandates manufacturers supply spare parts, documentation, diagnostics, and tools to consumers and independent repair shops. It includes an automatic repeal if Congress passes federal right-to-repair legislation, creating leverage for national action.
