From refugee to world champion to ambassador: Otto Jelinek dies at 86

Otto Jelinek, who died at 86 after living with Parkinson's disease for nearly 20 years, fled communist Czechoslovakia as a boy in 1948. With his sister Maria, he became a world champion pairs skater for Canada, represented Oakville in the Commons for two decades, served as revenue minister under Mulroney, and later returned to Prague as Canada's ambassador to the Czech Republic.
