Nvidia's $12.93bn Hugging Face acquisition extends its grip from GPU silicon to AI model distribution

Nvidia agreed on September 3, 2026 to acquire Hugging Face for $12.93bn, placing a platform hosting thousands of AI models, datasets, and libraries under the same roof as the GPUs that train them.
