Nepal Says 46 Workers Trapped in Flooded Hydropower Tunnel Are Alive as Death Toll Tops 1,252

Nepali authorities said they are "confident" that 46 workers trapped in an underground chamber of the Rasuwagadhi hydropower plant, three miles from Tibet, are still alive over a week after a melting glacier collapsed on the Nepal-Tibet border, sending debris-laden floods at 100mph across 60 miles of river valley. Excavators and thermal drones are deployed. The confirmed death toll exceeds 1,252; more than 4,200 remain missing.
