Burnham to abstain on assisted dying bill, breaking with Starmer's approach

The BBC reported that Prime Minister Andy Burnham told Labour MPs he will not vote on the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill, which returns to the Commons in two weeks. His predecessor Sir Keir Starmer voted in favour of the earlier bill. Burnham said he wanted colleagues to know it was "a genuinely free vote" and that the government would remain neutral.
