Science Museum Group Ends Decades-Long BP Partnership

The Science Museum Group announced on 28 August 2026 that it is ending its decades-long partnership with BP. CEO Sir Ian Blatchford said the relationship "drawn to a close at the end of the current contract term." The decision follows years of pressure from climate campaigners and educators, some of whom boycotted museum trips. BP-supported programs had reached over 1 million young people; no replacement funder has been named.
