Google AI Mode adds end-to-end travel booking with Google Pay

Google announced on August 27, 2026 that Search AI Mode now tracks flight prices across 300+ airlines in 180+ countries and facilitates hotel booking through partners including Booking.com, Expedia, and Marriott, with payment via Google Pay. Partners retain fulfillment and customer service. Hotel booking is rolling out in the U.S. first. The EU previously scrutinized Google's travel search positioning in 2021.
