Nearly 1,500 Missing After Himalayan Flash Flood on Nepal-China Border

A flash flood struck the Nepal-China border around August 27, 2026, leaving nearly 1,500 people missing across Nepal and Tibet, including more than 700 foreign nationals. Three deaths are confirmed in Tibet's Gyirong county, where 558 people remain unaccounted for. Some 826 are missing in Nepal.
