Pilot tests for Thames Water's planned £350m Teddington water-recycling scheme recorded PFOS — a suspected carcinogen — at up to 13 times the UK legal limit of 0.65 ng/l. Company documents warned of "rapid breakthrough of PFOS" in under one month as carbon filters saturated faster than expected.
