Volvo Shares Connected Hazard Alert Data with Rival Brands and Traffic Centers

Volvo is sharing connected safety alert data — covering large animals, pedestrians, cyclists, roadwork, and accidents — with other vehicle brands and traffic management centers, not just Volvo drivers. The data flows from its 1-million-vehicle fleet across Europe, the US, and Canada via automatic sensor detection and cloud-based vehicle-to-vehicle distribution. Volvo has operated connected hazard warnings since 2016.
