British Household Energy Debt Hits Record £6bn, Heading for £7bn as Winter Approaches
Great Britain's household energy debt reached a record £6bn at end-June, up roughly £500m in a year, according to Energy UK. The trade body projects it will hit £7bn by year-end as October's price cap rise to a three-year high coincides with rising winter consumption. The June figure already reflects lowest-demand summer months.
