NSW premier wrongly told parliament missing hiker was alive, later confirmed dead
NSW Premier Chris Minns told a parliamentary hearing that missing hiker Lily Hooper had been found alive, then corrected himself after receiving faulty advice from search agencies. Police later confirmed the 18-year-old's body was recovered in Nattai National Park after an eight-day search. ABC News had also reported her rescue. A coroner's report will follow.
