Supreme Court Tariff Ruling Sends Target a $994 Million Refund

Target received a $994 million tariff refund after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled Trump-era import tariffs unlawful. The repayment, equivalent to £733.9 million, made up roughly 38% of Target's second-quarter operating income of $2.6 billion — double the prior year's $1.3 billion. Other importers paid under the same tariff regime may have comparable claims. The total federal reimbursement exposure remains undisclosed.
