UAE Halts All Trade and Financial Ties With Iran After Ballistic Missile Detection

On August 19, 2026, the UAE suspended all trade, commercial exchanges, and financial transactions with Iran indefinitely after detecting two ballistic missiles it attributes to Tehran. Iran denies the claim. The blanket cutoff caps months of confrontation in which the UAE reports over 1,700 Iranian missiles and drones have targeted its territory since February 2026.
