Liberia Accepts 1,200 US Deportees for Free, While Eswatini Got $5.1 Million for the Same Programme

Liberia agreed to accept up to 1,200 non-Liberian deportees from the US over the next year, receiving no compensation, per Information Minister Piah. Eswatini was paid $5.1 million for participating in the same Trump administration third-country deportation programme. The State Department has not commented. Liberia will receive US support to manage its migration system; terms remain undisclosed.
