Trump Seeks New Kim Summit as North Korea Grows Stronger Since Last Meetings

Trump is pushing aides to arrange a Kim Jong Un meeting as soon as autumn 2026, the Wall Street Journal reported. Kim responded "very positively" to Trump's overture. Since their 2018–2019 summits produced no denuclearization, Pyongyang has expanded its nuclear arsenal and forged a military partnership with Russia supplying matériel for the Ukraine war — a relationship absent during the first-term meetings.
