Pakistan's Supreme Court Orders Imran Khan Transferred to Hospital, Breaking Pattern of Denied Requests

Pakistan's Supreme Court ordered former PM Imran Khan, 73, moved from Adiala prison to Islamabad's Shifa International Hospital within two days after judges cited abnormal pulse, affected vital organs, and gaps in the jail's medical report. Courts had twice denied similar requests since February 2026. Khan's sister and personal physician will join the medical board. He stays hospitalized at least until the next hearing on September 16. PTI plans nationwide protests for September 27.
